The LiMSwiki Vendor Directory - United States
A comprehensive, cross-referenced directory of 195 US-headquartered laboratory informatics vendors — spanning LIMS, LIS, ELN, SDMS, and LES — organized alphabetically, by category, by industry served, and by tier. Produced as a companion reference to LIMSpec, the LiMSwiki Laboratory Informatics Vendor Profile master matrix.
About This Directory
This is The LiMSwiki Vendor Directory, a companion reference to LIMSpec — the LiMSwiki Laboratory Informatics Vendor Profile master matrix (Version 2026R1). Where LIMSpec defines the vendor-neutral Feature Matrix used to profile individual vendors, this directory catalogs the vendor landscape itself: 195 laboratory informatics companies headquartered in the United States, spanning Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS), Laboratory Information Systems (LIS), Electronic Lab Notebooks (ELN), Scientific Data Management Systems (SDMS), and Laboratory Execution Systems (LES).
What This Directory Is — and Is Not
Every vendor listed here was individually researched and verified: company websites confirmed live, domains corrected where marketing materials or third-party databases had them wrong, ownership and M&A history checked, and — where evidence was available — placed into one of four tiers describing its relative scale and standing in the industry. This directory contains no vendor scores against the LIMSpec Feature Matrix; a vendor's inclusion here says nothing about whether or how well it satisfies any specific function in that matrix. Readers seeking function-by-function evaluation of a specific vendor should consult that vendor's own LiMSpec vendor profile, where one exists.
This edition covers US-headquartered vendors only. A companion edition covering non-US vendors is planned as a future addition to the LiMSpec series.
Why a Directory, Not Just a Spreadsheet
The underlying vendor list is maintained as a working spreadsheet with domain verification, ownership notes, and tier rationale for internal use. This HTML directory exists to make that same data browsable and useful outside a spreadsheet context — searchable in real time, organized by the questions a reader is actually likely to ask ("who are the major players?", "who serves cannabis testing labs?", "who makes SDMS products specifically?"), and readable on any device without opening a spreadsheet application.
How This Directory Is Organized
The same 195 vendors appear in every section below — what changes is the lens. Use whichever grouping matches the question you're actually trying to answer.
By Tier
Who are the major, category-defining players versus smaller regional or single-product shops? Useful for competitive landscape and market-positioning questions.
By Category
Who specifically builds LIMS versus LIS versus ELN versus SDMS versus LES? Useful when you need a vendor with a specific product category.
By Industry Served
Who serves forensic labs? Cannabis testing? Pharma QC? Useful when your starting point is an industry vertical rather than a product category.
Alphabetical Directory
The complete reference list, A–Z, with every vendor's tier, categories, products, and industries in one row. Useful for looking up a specific, already-known vendor name.
Press Ctrl/Cmd+K (or click the search box) at any time and start typing a vendor name, product name, or domain — the search indexes every section of this directory simultaneously and jumps you directly to the matching entry.
Vendors by Tier
Tiering reflects independently verifiable evidence of market scale — company size, funding, named customers, longevity, and standing in analyst or market-research coverage — not product quality or fitness for any particular lab's needs. A Tier 4 vendor may be an excellent fit for a specific niche; tiering describes market scale and standing, not merit. Tier assignments were made from publicly available evidence and should be treated as directional rather than authoritative where sources conflict or are limited.

Methodology & Sources
How this directory's data was compiled, verified, and maintained.
Vendor Discovery & Deduplication
The vendor list originated from public laboratory-informatics vendor references (including LiMSwiki's own vendor listings) and was expanded through targeted research to identify additional US vendors not present in the original source list. Vendors acquired by or merged into another tracked vendor were consolidated under the acquiring entity to avoid double-counting the same underlying product under two names.
Domain & Website Verification
Every vendor's domain was independently verified via live web search rather than trusted from any single source. A significant number of domains listed in third-party vendor databases were found to be incorrect, defunct, or belonging to an unrelated company with a similar name; these were corrected against the vendor's actual, currently live website.
Removal Criteria
Vendors were removed from this directory where research found: the company or product no longer exists; the domain on file resolves to an unrelated business with no evidence of the original product; the vendor is not genuinely a laboratory informatics software vendor (e.g., a hardware manufacturer, general IT consultancy, or unrelated industry); or no independent evidence of the vendor's existence could be found despite dedicated search.
Tier Methodology
Tier assignments (Chapter 2) were based on publicly available evidence across several dimensions: company scale (employee counts, revenue estimates), funding history and institutional backing, named enterprise customers, longevity and market longevity, parent-company scale where a lab product is one line within a larger company, and appearance in independent market-research or analyst vendor comparisons. Tier 4 was applied by default to vendors where none of this evidence could be independently confirmed — this reflects an absence of found evidence, not a judgment that the vendor is unsuccessful or low-quality.
This directory reflects a point-in-time snapshot of a fast-moving market. Vendor domains, ownership, and market position change frequently through M&A, rebranding, and business closures. Readers should independently verify any vendor's current status before making business decisions based on this directory.
Version History
Changes to this directory are tracked here going forward, each with its own version identifier, so readers can see what changed between editions.
| Version | Summary of Changes |
|---|---|
| 2026R1-2 (current) |
|
| 2026R1-1 | First versioned release. Bundles all functional development completed since the original 2026R1 baseline directory:
|
| 2026R1 | Original baseline directory: 195 US-headquartered laboratory informatics vendors with individual profile pages, organized by tier, category, industry served, and alphabetically. |
This directory follows a [Year][Release]-[Revision] pattern (e.g., 2026R1-1). The year and release component (2026R1) stays fixed to a given content baseline; the revision number after the hyphen increments with each subsequent round of functional or content changes to that baseline.
